I did a 278 mile ride out to western Maryland this past weekend. Riding was about 40% winding state roads and 60% interstate. My GTS burned 9 oz of oil. I recall the last time this thread came up a few of us mentioned that they would try different brands or weight. My last oil change was to Golden Spectro 10W-40 and I was using Yamalube 20W40 before that. Both burned quite a bit of oil. To the rest of you that switched brands and or viscosity, can you report your findings. A higher viscosity might help a bit. I don't expect brand to matter except to the extent that one brands 10W-40 might be on the higher end of the 10W40 viscosity spec while another brand might be on the low end.
