Check on the front left side above the left turn signal. The wiring harness goes over the upper left radiator mounting bracket which is a stamped piece of metal and quite sharp. I got this out of the archives a while back as I've got mine apart installing the new brake lines. I put some plastic edging over the metal bracket to avoid the chaffing problem in the future. You might also want to check a connector under the headlight. Seems I remember some having a problem with it making good connection. Pull it apart and look for corrosion and clean it up. I think that one was mentioned by Greg C. a while back.

If you search the GTS archives you should be able to find it. There is usually a rough weld that does the damage. This one has gotten several GTS riders in the past years. Uhhh...some broken holders that I should repair right now. Looks like I have more than one point to fix up ! For electric things....I will follow your (nicolas & john's) suggestions step by step. First of all I try to dismount the "Ignition" Key to check everything to broken wires and shorts. But that thing has UGLY screws - I changed it to "standard" screws instead of the "one-way" screws years ago. Looks like I fastend it too hard...now the screws want come out... With my tools I didN't have right access - need to buy a tool first and bring that out on next Thursday. Thanks for your help so far - will keep you informed. BTW: WHICH ONE IS THE STARTER RELAY ?!?
