'almost' . . just like a 14mm spanner 'almost' fits a 13mm nut :-)

Seriously, some aftermarket systems, particularly the "racier" ones, swing
the pipes down well clear of the sump and therefore won't be critical in
this area, whereas others are more "figure-hugging". Somewhere I have got
a picture which shows the difference in the sump shape of the FZR/YZF
motors, I'll try to find it.

Whichever, there will be some hacking necessary to fit the 02 sensor and
re-position the collector exit pipe for the GTS's low-slung silencer, so no
aftermarket or other Yamaha system is going to fit without modifications,
it's just a question of minimizing the work.

A nice feature which all the aftermarket systems seem to overlook.

Looks like about 10mm of rear suspension travel to me . . too daft for
words (same goes for art in general, though)

If it's like mine, the downpipes themselves are intact, but the collector
inlets and pipe clamps will have suffered. No.2 and 3 clamps on mine have
disappeared altogether.

In my experience the lifespan of exhaust putty repairs is measured in hours
or even minutes, rather than weeks - just long enough to get you to the
M.O.T. station and back!

Most likely this will make him a lifetime motorcyclist, are you sure you
want this?! Have a good time and don't forget the "father and son"
earplugs, even if your collector *doesn't* fall to pieces!
