A couple of days ago, while riding home, clear skies, beautiful 56 degrees at midnight, no one ahead of me on HWY 58, I decide to turn it up to 110, nothing daring....and quite a nice stroll...then I notice it, a strange thing on the horizon, at first I thought it was smoke or fog over the road from the nearby Coors lakes (worst beer in colorado), I start to slow down, to about 95 and peak my head over the windshield for a closer look....just in time to see, what looked like oh.......8000 miller moths flying around the overpass mercury lighting.....
splat. splat, splat, splat splat, splat, splat, splat, splat. At that speed, it maybe took 1/2 second to 1 second to pass the cloud, in that time, my faceshield and helmet became carpeted in moth remains.....not to mention that I felt as though I was on fear factor......I washed my GTS yesterday....I counted 90 confirmed kills bike and all...... What is in bugs that concretes them to the grill structure and embeds them into the radiator grill with superglue like strength. Does anyone have a favorite "bug solvent" something that wont hurt plants/grass? Also borrowed a WONDERFUL metal cleaner for the wheels, my backtire looked black from all the brakedust and tar that it picked up from the highway...it was called "evershine", it was a type of felt/cotton material that is soaked in a solvent, took out heavy tar within seconds....wonderful product, you just have to buff or rinse it off. It really did a great job. Best Regards, Thor Metzinger.
