Hi guys, a german bike magacine made a endurance test with the FJR1300. After 50.000 km they reduced the engine in ist component parts. The result was unbelievable. The crankshaft was absolutely as new. In the oilpump, there was no trace of rills. Obviously the motors get scrupulously cleaned before mounting. The gear box showed not a bit of pitting. The clutch is good for more 50.000 km. The pistons were faultless. No fetch and the tension of the piston rings were in best conditions. In the cylinders you can see hone-traces, that means there is no wasting. Only the outlet valves were lightly leaky, but with no effect to the power or the compression. I think Yamaha has developed a very trusty motor. By the way ther was no oil consumption to observe.
Greetings Helmuth
