I've used both Michelin MAC 90 and 100. We can still get 90s over here,
so their discounted price means that I went for these last time out.
I like both, as they give me confidence (as does the GTS), and the chicken
strip is pretty thin - so that can't be bad. Confidence in the wet is OK
too.
1st set of 90s lasted about 5,000 - this was a disappointment, but I was
still experimenting with set up and pressures, etc.
2nd set of 100s - wear seemed better, but the rear had to be changed after
2,000 due to BIG puncture. I changed again just before my recent trip, so
it's a little heard to say - I'd estimate 7,000 on front and 6-7,000 on
rear.
Currently on 90s. 2 up and heavily loaded these performed well, but
cupping on the rear came very quickly - 350 mile motorway blast to catch
the ferry home!
Overall, I rate the 100s above the 90s; and as I keep buying them, I
suppose that says something. I sometimes wish I had the option of trying
different tyres on the bike .......
I wouldn't call myself an expert on tyre choice, and I haven't tried
anything else on the GTS in the 2 years that I've had it. I do about
6,000 mile p.a. - riding all year, a mix of business and leisure, trying
to avoid motorways.
Hope this helps!
