It's time for my .02 worth. I have both a red and blue GTS. Whenever someone goes riding with me, they are on the blue one and I'm always leading on the red one, so obviously, the red is the faster of the two! ;^)
Seriously, the exhaust pipes measure 29 mm on both of the bikes. My FZ1 measures 34.5 mm and of course it's faster than either of the GTS's (and it's blue).
