Wow...that was just a long, long trip....enough time to sleep, wake up, hit
the road
again and again.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone....
Leaving the oil cover-fairing was a great idea. I went from denver to salina
(6 hours)
and then down to Caldwell....just in time to see my grandmother, visit a
family
reunion, and see a SMALL-town parade...the kind where anyone who wants to
join,
just drives on up....

The most unique thing...a stagecoach made from welded horseshoes...about
2,000....amazing...you never see that at the Rose Parade.

The GTS was handling great. I fought severe cross winds for about 300 miles
in the
middle of Kansas. That was very tiring. Following was blazing sun at a temp
of
95...ah the black leather.! I really need an airflow suit.

Saw many, many people coming back from sturgis...they were uptight..only 3
out of
30 harley riders actually waved back. I would have loved to ride in a group
with
them...but they go way too slow...70!...THE SHAME....I had my throttle
locked at 90
for most of the way....Finally met up with a BMW K1200RS packed for long
distance
in the middle of kansas, and rode with him for about 200 miles.

The lifesaver of my trip.....a Camelback Water bottle. It is meant for
hiking and
biking..a small (70 oz) Bottle with a drinking tube that attaches to your
shoulder ($30)
at a sport goods store.....that really is what kept me going in the heat.

I think I need to get my clutch looked at though....funny shifting when I
tried to get it in
neutral when I stopped for gas...

Otherwise and comfortable ride!
