If you are interested in doing this just so you know
how far you have gone and how fst you are going, the
trick setup is to get a cyclometer.  ANy bicycle shop
has them for about $20 us ($22 Euro?).  You fix a
magnet to the frot wheel, and run a wire to the head
unit, and program in the circumference of your tire.
It keeps incredibly accurate speed data and distance
date.  Good, cheap, and accurate.
