Before the GTS I had a XJ900 for ten years and a BMW for one year. Both are with crankshaft. I find it very messy with a chain drive plus the extra maintenance when one drives in wet conditions. In Sweden that's not unusual :-) The cover is actually made for the Danish police. They have about 30 GTS's. So a friend of mine who have used it for a while got me one. It makes the chain practically maintenance free. Of course one must check on the tension but lubricating can be done once a year. The lubricant we use is Litihum based grease due to the fact that the chain gets a little warmer/hotter than without the cover. /Leslie
