 I have had gout since I was thirty.  Too many years have passed even to
mention...:>)  It is totally controllable hereditary disease with proper
diet.

Give up the alcohol or at least only in moderation.  I love sardines but
they will guarantee a gout attack.  Rich meaty foods can also cause a goat
attack.  In fact any high protein food rich in purine.  All of these foods
tax the liver and it's ability process waste.  Gout is a build up of uric
acid in the blood stream and the crystal that may from from it in the
joints.  Avoid aspirin for the pain because it is also acidic.  Drink lots
of water every day and especially if you sense an attack.  The key to
control is simple.....don't let the blood go acidic and dilute it a lot of
water if it does.

Take two acetaminophen and call me in the morning.  The bills in the mail...
