When I look at the capabilities of stock motorcycles today, vs. 20 years ago, I would say we're well on our way to making bikes like these. The early 80's Honda CB's were nice bikes, but their go/stop/turn capabilities weren't even in the same league with today's CBR's.
I don't know as much about motorcycles as many folks on this list (or so it seems), but in the automotive world, elements of show concepts are frequently not that far from the production line. Maybe Honda's actively considering a single-sided front end. Patience, Grasshopper.
