I left the list about 6 months ago and now that I have returned, albeit for
a short stay - I'm selling my '93, I see that nothing really ever changes.

Carl, I noticed that you are suffering from the dreaded surge problem (on a
'94?). One suggestion that I will make, after having gone down the path of
synchronizing the throttle bodies, playing with the TPS pot settings,
etc.,etc.,etc. is this. The most dramatic effect was found after using the
Chevron Injector cleaner. The injectors are very sensitive; cheap gasoline
(Arco) has a tendency to lead to injector clogging. At low speed (low RPM)
the injectors will not have a steady fine droplet spray; they produce uneven
droplets causing an inconstant fuel mix, which the TPS tries to adjust for
but can't. Hence the surging. One other item to consider, which Nick T can
testify to, is the amount of play in the throttle cables; slop in the cables
can mimic the surge if you don't maintain a steady hand.

As indicated above, I am selling my '93. The price does not include the
manuals, helmets, or carb stick. When the bike sells I will be looking to
sell these items separately and will post to the list to see if anyone is
interested in them. Yes, I know, the list is not the want ads; that's why I
included comments about a relevant technical issue (see above).
