Weather broke for awhile today (Got into the high 40's) so I took Mona for a small 135 mile ride. We went south to Christiansburg, VA to visit a friend and show off the bike. I LOVE IT. It's my old '91 FJ (which I put 80,000 miles on) all over again but way better. Smooth as glass, handles like a dream even in slow tight places. One little section on RT 460 coming out of Blacksburg where I normally run about 75 thru some twisties, I was running 85 and would have felt very comfortable going much faster. Talk about flicking... I can't do the my '94 GTS1000 that way at all and it handles very well. I feel so comfortable on this bike. It's like I've ridden it for years. Too many positives to mention: A couple of minor negatives: 1. A buzzing in the right grip that causes my hand to go tingly. Heavier bar weights might help. 2. A lot of wind noise with the screen up. I'm 5'8" but I think a taller and wider windscreen is a must but I can live with this one for awhile.. Things to do: 1. Mayer custom seat, an absolute must. 2. Wire in some power plugins. Couldn't use the Autocom, play the MP3 player or turn on the Gerbing heated jackets today. Bummer. 3. Install heated grips. It's going to rain and turn to snow tomorrow and Friday so that will give me time to do some "fixin". I hope the roads don't get icy cause that will be gravel in the roads till spring. Can't wait till Bike Week in Daytona. Bill Sowers http://www.billybender.com
