I had a constant problem with the bolts on the battery terminals coming
loose.
I had to tighten them about every 2-4 weeks, and a loose connection will
give
the same symptoms you are seeing.

You have to be carefull tightening them. Try to use a backup wrench, or be
very carefull,
or you might rip a terminal out of the battery.

Other than that, it could be a bad battery or charging system.

Rob, if the bike was running fine the last time you
rode her, it's my bet that it's NEW battery time.
Sometimes a battery goes suddenly due to the plates
shorting out. It does not have to be that old. Some
batteries have a short life of only a couple of years.
Some last as long as five years or more. My original
battery lasted five years. I'm two years into my
second. Bottom line is their life span varies
according to riding conditions, climate and other
factors. Now if I win, you owe me a beer next time
I,m over your way.
