Up here we make the big bucks to give 40% to the gov't off the top, and then
7+7% provincial & federal taxes at the retail counter with the 60% that's left over.
Sometimes (not often) I think, hey Jean (say it in your best french accent [John
without the "n"] Mr. Cretien, our leader), come over here and run this for a while.
You do my job and I'll just come over and pick up my 40% every month ;)

NO lawsuits in 16 years of business. In construction the motto is "bury your
mistakes and accidents, it's cheaper" :0

1 legal action the court official threw out before I got a chance present my
defense (I didn't use a lawyer and I spent 13 hours preparing my data, and I
didn't know what was going on, I wanted to present my side of the story....It was
like "shut up, Kid, you won")

3 customers (in 16 years and 4,000 projects) that did not pay their bill in full
(99.9 cents collected on every dollar billed -- 16 years!). For many years I was
able to say "I have no living customers that haven't paid in full", I guess I'm
getting soft in my old age ;)

Susan cooks and books our social events.....I attend, both. The results of me
doing either of the above have not been pretty. I'm not allowed to do either!

Hey I worked today (well mostly), regular day up here in Canada. Our little
company is 10 strong. It's taken 16 years but I've got THE BEST construction
team for our specialty in our trading area, bar none. None of us are superstars,
but our teamwork gets amazing results. The early years required late nights,
usually to fix screwups. I probably don't work late more than once in two
months. I am now the token "slacker".

One of the secrets to success in Canada is lifestyle. With high taxes, it really
encourages NOT making the money, and enjoying the time instead. So far
"they" haven't figured out how to tax me when I'm goofing off not earning.

Aren't you guys happy you got your dose of Robert's Vitamin "(brackets),
parenthesis and ..." all in one shot this year (and not in the backside), just before
Christmas...or as some silly Canadians are trying to be politically correct this
year "holiday season".

Some things set me off, but lucky for me not French Signage/Labelling
requirements ;), we know where that can go!

Seriously, fingers off the trigger my friends down south. Our Prime Minister's
reaction to his aide calling Bush a "moron" was "He's not a moron, he's my
friend". Now you may think the comment is funny, but if you are a Canuk you
were rolling on the floor laughing when our assasin of the English language
responded with that ["Presbyterian, I tot he was a Vegitarian"]. I think the only
person who does it better is my grandma....Jimmie's taking the Volgo (Volvo) to
Loco (Woolco) to buy a Microphone (Microwave) Oven, and then he's going to
play on his 'Pukelator (computer).

Man, the first sure made the international press. I was listening to "Radio
Havana" on shortwave last weekend and they incorrectly translated (don't know
how they did that because the broadcast was in English) it as "imbecile". Love
RHC on Saturday nights because it has a program called "DXers Unlimited" with
Arnie Coro a program about shortwave listening (& Ham) and reception
conditions. I hear Sadman did much the same. Wasn't able to bring in the
"glorious leader" from Radio Pyongyang in N. Korea last week, so I don't know
what they had to say. RPY has to be the only English propeganda saturated
broadcast left in political SW broadcasts. All the rest (BBC, canada, voice of
America, R Australia, R France, Channel Africa, etc). have about an equal level
of nudging your opinion, mostly by omission of important points.

What were we talking about;) Oh yea, I AM NOT related to Dr. w. euGene
Scott broadcasting on shortwave from Pasadena...any similarities in "nutbar" are
just coincidental.

Did I mention I listen to shortwave by opening my mouth and attaching a wire to
one of my fillings.

And then I turn on the radio, Gotcha!

Have a good holiday evening my friends, hope you got a chuckle reading my run
on sentences, and felonious punctuation....rant!

Robert
