Subject: GTS fuel tank modifications

As John mentioned we both have custom enlarged fuel tanks by Steeli Dan
in Santa Rosa. John was also kind enough to forward the link to one of
my photo albums, I don't have a web site like some of you more advanced
guys. What was also mentioned is there is the easy, do-it yourself way
of adding 1/2 gal by removing the filler tank flapper. Kelly recently
posted how-to on his web site. This will get you to approx 5.8 gal (from
stock 5.3). The bigger job is to send your tank to Dan Danielson, where
he will proceed to add blisters to the bottom, back and sides that
enlarges the tank to about 7.3 gal. It still fits under the plastic.
However it will probably take 2-4 wks and set you back at least $500, if
not more, not counting shipping. You should contact Dan at his shop
(707) 544-0875 to get a quote as this was several years ago and his work
load varies. He has 2 GTS's so he may be able to send you an enlarged
tank in exchange for yours.
