I don't think it's steep for what it is - a low volume manufactured part that gives a 10+ HP boost and cuts some weight. Looking it that way it's a bargain, but it's more than I want to invest in my GTS now (I'm putting my money towards another motorcycle to join the GTS and 929 in the garage).
