Guys - some answers to questions posed recently. Downpipe size - Yes, Renegade are significantly larger. They add around 7- 8 BHP.
Other power gains - Surprisingly, the cat was the least restrictive part (3 hp gain), and the race can adds about 5 hp. Race v standard can & fitting - When you purchase a Renegade end can, Jorge will supply a link pipe which connects collector to can. This means that race can & link pipe can be replaced by standard muffler for MOT test. Why replace system? - The problem was associated with the cat - where downpipes join cat. This area (behind front wheel) picks up any muck from riding, and being of mild steel is susceptible to corrosion. I advise you to check this area, because experience shows that we only find out about it too late! There are other options for dealing with this - I was told by local dealer it would require 1 day in workshop at cost of 250 GBP. They remove and reweld - but constantly have to offer system back to bike to ensure correct angles & routing, etc! I wrote a detailed account of my experience which is on Tor's website: http://www.torolsen.com/index1.htm and follow link 'Technical stuff'. Nick Threader's exhaust solution is also here. Hope this helps! Robin - satisfied Renegade customer! That exhaust sound is still wonderful after 5 months!
