That's definitely something to shoot for in the future - considering the reputation built up over the years, that it's run by Chris Anderson and looking at their advisory board, and considering they probably pay their speakers it's not hard to see why they have such a brilliant keynote (and speaker) line up (I mean Murray Gell-Mann *and* Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at the same conference). It might be worth considering how (in future) we might use the contacts within the Advisory Board or 'Gnome Rock Stars' to draw in great speakers from outside the direct GNOME community. > keynote (how are things going on kleynotes now? Have any other people > been invited since that last time this came up?) I have to hold my hands up to complete failure on the 'external' keynotes. I took your advice and crafted personal messages to each person, and then sent a reminder and I've got nothing back (not even a No). Not sure what I'm doing wrong (apart from being a nobody). So I'm throwing this open and asking for help - if there is someone from outside the GNOME community that you think will make a great keynote speaker (for example anyone already mentioned in our previous discussions) and you're sure you have enough mojo to get a response the let's get going. The only thing I ask is that you drop me a line so that we don't start inviting 10 people when we only have 3-4 slots to fill.
