It's cool to be able to post a persistent message, but I still think there needs to be some way to restore the device name. People who don't understand how the hack works may get a nasty surprise if they find they're still broadcasting their last message days later, when they're in another context. >> * This is an evil hack and you are evil. > > Please join in the evil! Public broadcast doesn't fit with Briar's threat model, but I think the apps could complement each other well. Actually there's another project that could benefit from this too: aDTN. Ana Barroso started the project at the last Circumvention Tech Summit, but it stalled because we couldn't find a way to broadcast small packets of data from unrooted devices. Maybe the Bluetooth device name is the way to go. https://www.seemoo.tu-darmstadt.de/team/ana-barroso/adtn/ Cheers, Michael -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJULTjUAAoJEBEET9GfxSfM+usIAJnXvWdv/3dHisEMv4OnKu5h CCXXXBUCA7WHRejGUHzLQ+CxGfRM+Aw9SdN3ZXEFB/Lg+ii3KD9+cT+uk2ltYCYQ KSVfJod3BPyD8YdJxm2RziEYitY6eyEMJkOR7XvR+8OUfTOjxY82yJvp5NOBOgK1 pFiKUONExuMgzJN0/YU6wVRA9s53/BPBJ7c0chvozpPUEDbdHgTFLOl8zNazg8y1 tF+4JGN08/4hHhsBtI6cMe/zALtTj1qvrJqt/tucK3Ypcz+zdip9glg4MJezUS4F 5ej43AOaJgA6V/ZyyFmTdRWsloY1uIPMe1ynRZfgYz4iJZSg+Pbum8JNWtrjxEI= =ZeuV -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Guardian-dev mailing list Post: Guardian-dev@lists.mayfirst.org List info: https://lists.mayfirst.org/mailman/listinfo/guardian-dev To Unsubscribe Send email to: guardian-dev-unsubscr...@lists.mayfirst.org Or visit: https://lists.mayfirst.org/mailman/options/guardian-dev/archive%40mail-archive.com You are subscribed as: arch...@mail-archive.com
