Costales, I noticed that the described behavior is intermittent, and does not only pertain to gufw (which, when started from the command line, works just fine).
I found the same behavior also with Software Center, not bringing up the auth dialog when clicking on "Install" to install a new piece of software. When logging out and back in again, the behavior is fixed across the board, including Firewall. I am wondering what software package could cause this, as I am sure that this is not limited to Firewall, but any GUI driven tool that calls for authentication. Again, this is intermittent and so far I haven't observed a pattern to reproduce. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Gufw Developers, which is subscribed to gui-ufw in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1021070 Title: ufw firewall does not launch authentication dialog Status in “gui-ufw” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: ufw firewall is accessible from the system settings menu, but when clicking on the Firewall "Unlock" icon, it does not trigger an authentication dialog in order to unlock the settings.
