Guy Steele's comment on Java positioning

I ran across an article on Closure.  It starts by noting that this year 
will mark
the 25th anniversary of Java.  I love this quote from the article 
discussing the
positioning of Java:

"We were after the C++ programmers.  We managed to drag a lot of them
about halfway to Lisp."  -- Guy Steele, co-author of the Java Language
