This commit causes a full rebuild since it's used as a native-input for
'ed', which in turn is an input for 'patch'.  I reverted it on staging,
can you resubmit it to core-updates?

Note: I had to "manually" revert in order not to downgrade to 1.16.  So
the description update is still in 'staging'.
