> * A step debugger
FWIW, i never really used a step debugger in the 15+ years working in lisp (Slime and SBCL), most of it professionally with thousands of users and a full stack codebase. none of my other 3 colleagues missed/used it, nor, frankly, anyone i knew. it must be one of those features that only seem useful from a distance (or i'm living in a twisted niche of this niche). and while we are at it, i think what fulfilled the same role was a combination of: - breakpoints - dynamic recompilation from the debugger - restarts in the debugger (especially one keypress to continue) - logging -- • attila lendvai • PGP: 963F 5D5F 45C7 DFCD 0A39 -- “Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love.” — Khalil Gibran (1883–1931)
