Hi all,

If you are going to attend Guix Days 2026 please note that we're ticketing it
this time. That means that you need to buy a ticket at Open Collective AND put
your name down on the Libreplanet Wiki page:

  https://opencollective.com/guix-foundation/events/guix-days-2026-33f30f0e
  https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:Guix/FOSDEM2026

In previous years we've asked for a contribution during the event to cover the
costs. That's been a bit of a surprise for new people and as many people don't
have cash these days it wasn't that effective. Given the focus on making GNU
Guix sustainable it makes sense to also focus on making Guix Days cover it's
own costs, so ticketing makes it easy for people to contribute.

Overall, to rent the rooms at ICAB, provide the tea & coffee and the lunch over
the two days it costs us between 3000-3500. All tickets are for an individual
to attend both days of Guix Days with all the catering (tea/coffee, lunch)
included. There's a maximum capacity of 60 people at ICAB and we want Guix Days
to be accessible to anyone, so I've set-up three levels of ticket:

1. General attendance ticket - €45
The general admission ticket pays for attendance by a single individual. The
minimum contribution is €45 and you can contribute more if you would like to.

2. Professional ticket - €120
This ticket is for those that are attending in a 'professional' capacity and
can justify making an additional contribution to the Event's costs. For
example, if your organisation has a professional development budget and you'd
be able to fund your attendance at Guix Days from it. Again, it's set so you
can contribute more if you would like to do so.

3. (Almost) Free ticket - €10
This ticket is for anyone for whom the general ticket is too expensive. We want
Guix Days to be accessible to all, just like GNU Guix is.

If you have any problems purchasing a ticket, or want to pay cash at the event
then please contact me directly by email. We need to make sure the
registrations are correct as there's a limit at ICAB of 60 people.

We are also looking for ways to sponsor Guix Days and Guix Foundation, so if
your organisation would be interested in that please get in contact!
