Hello everyone!

This week the release team was occupied with the creation of the
next-master branch, creating early release artifacts and fixing bugs.

As a reminder, the master branch should now only be used for bug fixes
and security issues. Otherwise, you can push to the next-master branch
:)

Next week, we will set up a CI jobset for the next-master branch. As
well as fixing the few hard blockers left for the release, including the
ungrafting.

If you want to help with the release, please look into the following issues:

#4374: i686 installation image panics on boot due to compression
For any i686 users, otherwise we will have to disable compression since
we don’t have the resources to look into it much.

#4225: Guix test suite failures (make check)
This is a general issue about the failing tests in guix. You can try
running make check on your guix checkout and fixing one or two tests you
like.

#4704: Improving the documentation
Its important that our manual is complete and up to date! If you notice
any errors, missing information, or outdated stuff in the manual, just
reporting it can go a long way for users :) Making a pull request is
even better of course, and should be simple.

Thats it for today, happy Saint Nicholas Day for those who celebrate
it :)

Have a great week,
Noé and Rutherther

Thanks to our guest for this week Nutcase!
