I'm staying at the B&B Hotel close to Bailli, so about 30-40 min away from ICAB. > The general problem about an in-person event would be to find a good > place; we have not rented the ICAB room on Friday, but might be able > to hang out somewhere in the hallway. Yeah, I was thinking just going to a café or something similar and just hack for a few hours, as I'm not expecting too many people showing up in-person. Given this is a last minute thing. > A hybrid event would probably make things more difficult yet. > And personally I am not too excited about hybrid events, which tend to > be difficult even with dedicated web conference equipment. I was thinking a hackathon might require less equipment since each person just need their own machine and a network connection. Biggest problem would be communication. I'm not sure how easy it is to spin up an ad-hock real-time chat for this. As using the guix channel on IRC might cause too much noise for people not anticipating. But yeah, maybe I'm too naive. And best course of action is to start with an online hackathon, then leave the in-person part to the Guix Days. -- s/Fred[re]+i[ck]+/Fredrik/g
