Hi all, If you are contributor to Guix I hope you'll consider joining Guix Foundation - and as it's our annual general meeting this Sunday, it seems like a good time to remind everyone.
As you may know Guix Foundation is one of two Sponsor organisations (the other being the FSF) [0]. This means that all donations from Guix users or organisations go to one of these non-profits who use it to support/promote Guix [1]. Guix Foundation is a members-driven Association, meaning that the organising committee and priorities all come from members. We have close to 100 members, and I would love to deepen and widen it so that it represents our community in the best way possible. The AGM is annual, and consists of updates from the Bureau (Tanguy and myself) on what we've been doing. We select an organising committee (called the SAC) which currently has 7 members, who discuss and decide on the proposals/ideas that members put forward. And there will be various discussions about how Guix Foundation can support and promote Guix. If you are a member all the details were sent to the guix-foundation members mailing list. If you are NOT (yet) a member, but would like to join or find out more then please come along to the AGM. We won't be able to process membership before hand, but we can organise for you to come along and participate (excluding votes). Membership is just 10 Euros a year (anything above is a standard donation) and it's easy to do. It's on Sunday, 14th June at 17:00 UTC / 18:00 London / 19:00 Paris / 10:00 in San Francisco Please drop me a line and I'll organise the rest of the details for you. See you there! Steve / Futurile [0] https://guix.gnu.org/en/donate/ [1] To make it easier to operate the project moves money from the FSF into Guix Foundation where we then organise to pay for things (e.g. Guix Days conference rooms)
