Given what I learned by reading [Stack Exchange](https://archive.ph/wip/FJiM8) and [https://github.com/museoa/mdev-like-a-boss](mdev like a boss), I believe we ourselves can keep a copy of eudev, or even better, a Scheme-based udev replacement. After all Guix created [elogind](https://github.com/elogind/elogind) and we somehow achieved [gnome without systemd](https://piaille.fr/@baleine/114910397837172799) just to run gnome on a systemd-less distro.
