My reasons for not supporting:

1.  copyright: harmful and unjust law which, IMO, we shouldn't take
  to a standard higher than everyone else;

2.  wrong aim: most, if not all, issues in the motivation are not
  inherent to this technology, but consequences of our capitalistic
  economy and the concentration of power in the hands of a few;

3.  monoculture: we're politically enforcing one way of thinking or
  working instead of convincing or proving the better path forward.

Nonetheless, I do think the situation calls for caution and that it
is necessary to have some policy in order to have a healthy
environment for working together.
