New Indian airline by September(By a staff reporter)11 May 2004 

DUBAI - Yamuna Airways, a no-frills Indian domestic carrier, is set to launch flights on four different sectors in India by end-September. 

Jagdish Kotecha, CEO, Yamuna Airways, said that the sectors include Hyderabad-Goa, Goa-Pune, Goa-Hospet and Goa-Bangalore.
"We are presently looking at operating ATRs or Embraer aircraft with an initial fleet of four aircraft to increase to 12 in two years' time," he said, adding that the aircraft has a capacity to carry 48-50 passengers.
As a low-cost carrier, Mr Kotecha said the airline would be offering tickets which will be 35 to 40 per cent cheaper than other domestic carriers in India. In addition, the airline will have e-ticketing. Customers can either contact Yamuna Airways call centre, purchase tickets on the website, airport offices, or travel agencies anywhere around the world.
