With the sponsorship of NGEECO Siemens and co-sponsorship of Mahatta
Freight Services, the Curtorcares United Club in Kuwait, under the
leadership of Salvador Dias and Mariano D'Silva (President and Vice
President), held their Easter Nite Ball recently.
The specially flown in guest of honour was Mr. Francisco Sardinha of
Curtorim - the current MLA, together with his wife, Columba. The welcome
was thunderously applauded as the two Goan invitees were received at
the start of the programme by Salvador Dias and escorted by Carmo
Santos.
Carl�Otto Klermund - General Manager of NGEECO Siemens-Kuwait was the
chief guest. The special guests were Rishikant Singh - Air India
Manager for Kuwait & Cyprus, Sajid Khan - Director of Siemens Mobile, Mr.
Mallek - Qatar Airways General Manager, Carmo Santos - Manager, Mahatta
Freight Services, Mr. Navpreet-Emirates Springs,Mr.Tariq-Kuwait Bahrain
Int'l Exchange Co, Hassan Himan-Shoot and Fr. Tony D'Souza of Indian
English Academy School (Don Bosco), Kuwait.

Members of various Goan associations were present at the Ball including A.Veronica
Fernandes of Kuwait Konkani Kendr, Alexander Fernandes of Colva United
Club, and Bosco Leitao of CRC Chinchinim as well as KCWA's Lawrie
Pinto. Throughout the "Easter Celebrations", prizes flowed to the satisfaction of the
attendees and the participants in the various competition and surprise items
presented, which were sponsored by Air India, SHOOT, Qatar Airways,
CANON, Pan Arab Travels, Minolta, Caesars Travels, Al Mulla Rental, UAE
Exchange, Kuwait Bahrain International Exchange Co., Red Rose
Restaurant, Konica, Emirates Springs, Chevron Texaco, Lipton, Atlas Commercial
Co., etc. to name a few.

Curtorcares United left no stone unturned to have the 'Easter Nite
Ball" with all the promised grandeur . Thracha D'Mello, Merwyn Pereira and
Lloyd D'Souza gave their best to the audience with remarkable
coordination to have the programme smoothly concluded.

Kuwait's leading music band "Stepping Stones" had the dancing crowd
glued to the floor. The Soul Shakers and Thracha with her brother Tedd,
added charm with their mixture of songs and music.
The 'Easter Queen" contest was well conducted and had scores of
participants. The panel of judges comprised of Carl Otto Klermund, Francisco
Sardinha, Navpreet Bhogal, Carmo Santos, Rishikant Singh and Reji
Jacob.

It was interesting to see that the organizers offered a three minute
slot for the release of Rosary Ferns' new Konkani VCD, during which A.
Veronica Fernandes joined at the dias.
Nisha Braganza was crowned the Easter Queen. Valencia D'Souza and
Conchita Cardozo took the first runners-up and the second runners-up
positions. A large number of gifts were presented to the winners.
Salvador Dias proposed a vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude
to all his committee members and Curtorcars in Kuwait, sponsors and all
those who have assisted to make the event a success.
A special mention was made of Carmo Santos for his assistance and cooperation. Mementos
were presented to companies for their continuous support for the club.
