3rd Intl. kite carnival ends in Goa amidst much fun and fanfare!:

[India News]: Panaji, Dec 12 : The third international kite festival titled 'One sky one world' began in Goa with much fanfare and festivity.

The three-day festival witnessed fliers from across the US, UK, France, Singapore, Austria and many other countries descend on the Miramar Beach in Panaji with their kites to take part in the event.

The Entertainment Society of Goa in association with the Department of Tourism organized the three-day event from December 10 to 12. Organized and conceptualised by Ajay Prakash, CEO of Nomad Travels and the Nomad Heritage Trust, which has previously organised International Kite Festivals in places like Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jasalmer, Agra, Lucknow and Goa for the last seven years, 'One sky one world' was just another feature in their cap of similar such achievements.

"One sky one world is a very simple thought, a very profound thought. We are living in a really tense time. Boundaries exist only over land. The open sky doesn't offer any boundaries. Like the human mind, which has the freedom to think, beyond the vast expanse of one's domain, the sky also offers limitless space for one's thoughts. We also hope that this small efforts of ours can make a little bit difference in how people think and emulate on their thoughts," said Ajay Prakash, CEO of Nomad Travels and the Nomad Heritage Trust

Kite fliers from across the world, from places as distant as USA, UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Singapore, Germany and Australia and from several other places all over India took part in the festival.

The whole surrounding looked colourful with kites from different nations, with shapes and sizes as diverse as birds, bees, airplanes, human forms, pre-historic creatures to modern geometric design, flying side by side, making true the 'One Sky One World' slogan of the kite carnival.

While most of the participants took part in the festival to fly their kites, there were others like Nicholas Chorier from France who is an aerial kite photographer. He had attached a camera to his kite, which he controlled through remote from the ground, enabling him to capture the action on the ground.

"This is a special kite. I use it to lift the camera to take aerial pictures," said Nicholas.

The beach was full of people with adults and children alike enjoying the fun, getting a rare opportunity to see kites made of different materials ranging from paper to cloth, from bamboo to steel wires, all attached with thick strings and ropes.

"We have no traditional kite like in India. We use normally modern material like fabric," said Karl Heulinger, a kite flier from Austria.

Organizers were optimistic that the three-day kite festival that brought in a lot of joy to the people of Goa, will also bring out before the people all over the world, Goa's uniqueness as a hot tourist destination. (ANI)
