BY Anthony Vaz, Goa Velha : Though I have no affiliation to any political party I feel that those MLAs who have moved from one party to another party have not done because the party in which they were in was corrupt but because the grass is greener on the other side. When will we get people like Jack de Sequeira, Roque Santan Fernandez, PP Shirodkar, Gopal Appa Kamat and others whose names I cannot remember? They were people of integrity and dignity. They were born to one party and many of them died while in that party but they did not succumb to money or power. Jack de Sequeira never got a chance to become a chief minister which he was aspiring but he died a dignified man. I am sure had they to be born poor they would rather die of starvation than to change parties and make money. These are great people whose statues should be erected in every corner of Goa. Shame on you elected representatives of Goa. You had to stoop so low to get your personal gains maligning the image of Goa. Voters should not vote for these cheap people who do not know the value of human dignity. They should be shown that Goans cannot be taken for granted. People like Isidore, Micky, Babush, Digamber Kamat, etc should be forced to end their political careers by the electorate. We do not want such politicians. |
