Wednesday, March 9, 2005 (Panaji):
In Goa, the mysterious death of a young Croatian man is making headlines.
Domagoj Seks, who was in India with friends, went missing last month and his dead body was found in a river just three days ago.
Domagoj had arrived in Goa on February 1 and went missing around February 25.
After waiting for eight days, his girlfriend, Mirtan Krisman, lodged a complaint.
''A body was found floating in a rivulet below the Nerul bridge. On March 6, a missing persons report was filed. On identification, it was found that the body was that of the missing Croatian,'' says Sharad Aggarwal, SP, North Goa.
Investigations underway
The Goa police are investigating the events that led up to the death of the 25-year-old.
A frequent traveller to India and Sri Lanka, he was last seen alive at a nightclub in Anjuna.
Domagoj, his girlfriend, and four other friends were staying in a rented cottage. They were trying their luck as musicians at a trace music bar and spent a lot of time travelling around in busses.
Officials say that Domagoj might have been sitting on a rock that night when he was swept away by a strong wave.
''The post mortem report states that it is a clear case of drowning,'' says Sharad Aggarwal , SP, North Goa.
The boy's father Vladimir Seks, who is the Speaker of the Croatian Assembly, has taken his sons body back home.
