12 in line for pageant title

MANAMA, BAHRAIN TWELVE contestants are taking part in the Young Goans Club's May Queen beauty pageant. The annual search takes place tomorrow at 8pm at the Palace Inn's Falcon Hall, in Adliya. "The pageant is open to women of any nationalities, aged between 16 and 30," said club president Cassius Pereira. "They don't necessarily have to be club members. They can call us if they are interested in taking part or even join on the day of the pageant itself." All those interested in participating are welcome to contact show co-ordinator Rosario Pereira on 39808508. The pageant is choreographed by Shameema Toorani and compered by Anand Lobo. Prizes for the winners include airline tickets and electronic goods. The show will feature a performance by local band Sheer Magic and a DJ. Guests will be charged BD2.500 per head, which includes a buffet and limited tickets are available with the organisers. Guest's tickets of BD 1 will be available at the gates, which does not include buffet. The main sponsors are Indian Airlines and Bahrain Ferro Alloys. Co-sponsors are Mothercare, Western Union, Al Jazira Cold Stores, Bemco, OTSC, Hempel Paints, Mohammed Fakhro, Cash Trading and United Commercial Agencies, Rouben's Store, Awal Refrigeration and Union Press.
