After a very long pause there is another Konkani film - PADRI
'Padri' Konkani film is the first film of Raymond Quadros. Met Rajesh Fernandes accidentally and thus the evolution of the film took first round of talks. After a serious thought and a few rounds of discussion the film 'Padri' was decided. For the first time thrills and actions are included in 'Padri' Konkani film. Story of the Film: Savio, Julies and Raegan are three brothers in the film 'Padri'. They are growing in life under the tutelage of their sister in law. Sister in law is like mother for all of the three brothers. Savio intends to become a 'Padri', Julius ekes out interest in a business company. Regan is an Engineer.
In this happy living family enters Anushka. She has lot of head weight as she is grown up in an aristocratic family. Her uncle is Roldhawa ala the Shakuni of the Mahabharatha. In scheming things and demolishing peace no one can beat him. Once he throws the dice it is sure that any ones head roll.
Such a horrible personality Roladhawa comes to the house of Anushka. In his short stay he makes very calculative moves that harm everyone in the family. Anushka unknowingly supports her uncle.

Producer of
'Padri' Konkani films Raymond Quadros says the shooting of this film with the artistes and technicians of Karnataka and Goa was completed with a commercial touch. This cinemascope film consists of 46 artistes. The shooting was held in 58 beautiful locales of interior and outdoor.
Coming up from a very poor family in his childhood Raymond Quadros hails from Kinnigola near Mangalore. In search of job he moved to Mumbai as an electrician.

With not much of scope with his job on hand Raymond Quadros to carve a better future proceeded to Dubai. In Dubai he became a cook of a Pakistani house. Not happy with it he came back to open a provision shop in Mumbai. Bad luck dodged him here also and he moved to Gulf for a better job. This time he showed interest in sale of electronic instruments. He became a contractor. He has started getting hold of profits and gave employment also for a few persons.
After nine colorful years he came back from Gulf to Bangalore. He started 'Sripadha' vegetarian hotel near Madivala check post. This became a turning point in his life. He started one after the other five hotels. In all these period he did not lose interest in Konkani literature.
He evinced interest in making a film in Konkani language. He met Rajesh Fernandes accidentally and thus the evolution of the film took first round of talks. After a serious thought and a few rounds of discussion the
film 'Padri' was decided.
This is a lavishly made film in one schedule says Raymond. There was no compromise and no worry bothered the entire team. For the first time thrills and actions are included in 'Padri' Konkani film.
It has been decided to release the film in Bangalore, Mangalore, Karwar, Goa and Maharashtra. This will be once again a record development from Konkani film 'Padri'.
DIRECTOR RAJESH Writes:
Director N.Rajesh Fernandes says the 25 days shooting of 'Padhri' is
an unforgettable experience. In Goa, Karwar, Kumta, Honnavar,
Kasargod, Apsara Honda and Tonka the shooting was held. There was
complete cooperation from the artistes and technicians. The entire
shooting was a nice experience.
But there are three important incidents which I would like to narrate:
" The generator developed technical snag. The shooting was stopped
for sometime. When the main part of the generator was opened and
taken to the
company for repair the camera assistant got injured when
the main pin in the generator reversed back. That narrowly saved the
eyes of the camera assistant.
" In Raya the shooting was going on. It was heckling of the church
father scene. The Light stand fell down and there was some minor
injury. The actual reason was not known at that time. Next day we
came to know that crash of light stand was because of the earthquake
effect.
" It was the last day of shooting in Goa. The car in which the
producer Raymond Quadros, his wife Freid, actress Lirona and others
were traveling in a car. Near Panaji the car met with an accident. A
bike dashed against our vehicle. The car of the producer was damaged
but no one was injured. The unit was in tension after hearing this
news. It is only after the producer coming to the spot there was sigh
of high relief.
