Royal Education Society Dr. Undre to address Open Forum

 

The President of the ROYAL EDUCATION SOCIETY (RES) Dr. A.R. Undre will be addressing and Open Forum for discussion about the activities of the organization. The Open Forum will be held on Friday, May 20th between 4 pm � 6 pm at the India Community School (Senior) Auditorium in Salmiya and is open to all individuals interested in the activities of the RES.

 

The RES is based in Borli Panchatan in Maharashtra, India and works towards education and learning not just regular students but also the needy and underprivileged.

 

The Royal Education Society (RES) is well known for the tremendous work they do in the field of education. Besides an English medium school in the village they also run a college and hostels for boys and girls. The strength of the school has risen to over 3000 with main school at Borli Panchatan & ten primary schools in different villages over an area of 100 kms.  The RES also promotes women's education offering degree courses to girls in various disciplines.

 

The school had achieved 90% results in the SSC examinations last year and the B.Sc (Biology) results were 100% for the fourth consecutive batch.  They offer a B.Sc. degree course in Computer Science and propose to start degree courses in Business Management & Information Technology in the near future. With this aim in mind they have started information technology as a subject in the junior college already. A developing computer lab, science laboratory and other facilities provide all round education to all the students of the school and colleges.

 

RES has also been at the forefront in times of national crises. Following the 1992 riots 100 orphans from various relief camps in Mumbai were sheltered by the school. In 1990 during the Kuwait invasion of Iraq 250 students from Kuwait were admitted to the without fees. After the Gujarat tragedy the RES adopted 130 students from riot torn Gujarat. 44 girls and 86 boys were admitted into the school and are provided for with all day to day necessities.
