Navelim Youth Centre elects new Committee for the year 2005-06
Kuwait: Agnello A.S. Fernandes was once again unanimously elected President of Navelim Youth Centre (NYC) at the Annual General Body Meeting of the club held at 'Village Inn' on 17th June 2005.
Elected as President for the tenth time since inception of the club in 1987, Agnello highlighted Navelims fame in Kuwait and other Gulf countries mostly due to the various activities undertaken by the club in the social and sports field, and stressed on the continued need for cooperation and support from all members.
Incidentally, it should be noted some members of NYC are also members of various other Goan social and cultural organizations in Kuwait including Goan Welfare Society (GWS), Kuwait Konkani Kendr, Konkani Heritage, Kuwait-Goa Tiatristanchi Sonstha (KGTS) among others. Over the years, NYC have been instrumental in supporting the Konkani cause, organizing Konkani dramas, dances, and promoting friendship and unity.
