"Hindu Awareness Campaign" in NY on July 30 - 31

New York, NY: The Hindu American Foundation (HAF), a religious orientation and human rights group working for the interests of the Hindu population in America, is going to organize a two-day “Hindu Awareness Campaign” in New York on July 30-31, 2005.

The Foundation President Dr. Mihir Meghani and Executive Council Member Mr. Swaminathan Venkatraman would be meeting the community conclave, while HAF’s 2005 internees and its supporters would be imparted with the latest developments in the Foundation’s agenda.
 
The two-day program would commence its first leg of initiation at Lakshmi Hall (The Hindu Temple Society of North America), New York on July 30, 2005 between 4.00 – 6.00 PM.
 
The second program involving the Youth Affairs would be conducted over luncheon at the Long Island home of Dr. Urmila Shivaram and Subramanya Bhat, 75 Plymouth Road, Plandome, New York, on July 31, between 11.30 am – 2.00 pm, followed by Community Leaders’ program from 2.00 pm till 5.pm.

The prime agenda of HAF’s two-day meet includes Infrastructure development, Governmental Education Campaign, Media Education Campaign, Hindu Human Rights Campaign, Hindu Hate Watch Project, Legal Activism Campaign and Community Outreach Campaign.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) established in the year 2003 is in vigorous pursuit of its goal to provide a voice for about 2 million population of the Hindu American community in the United States. Its regular activities are interaction with several government, media and intellectual for a, apart from organizing holding awareness programs to sensitize the community over issues of Hindus locally and globally and promoting the Hindu and American ideals of understanding, religious tolerance and pluralism.
