The late Jacinto Vaz was one of the immortal icons of the Konkani stage.  He was a simple, down to earth person and a great host at home.  He had a clear
voice because of which he was able to sing songs at a low pitch.  He was one of the yesteryear actors/ singers who acted and sang songs on the stage without mike system.  As a comedian, he never exerted with gestures; he spoke slowly but wittingly.  His entry on the stage sent the public berserk and that was because he had established himself as a natural comedian, which is why he was named ‘the Charlie Chaplin of the Konkani Stage’, and he rightly deserved the title!  He was one of the few actors who a director would allow to toy with dialogues of a scene to suit his comedy, but he never digressed from the original message of the scene/theme.
