Divino Almeida (Mog Sogleanchea Kalzan) and Sonia Fernandes (Paryavaran) have been adjudged decent solo - male category and decent solo - female category, respectively at the Cantaram competition organised by the Kala Academy on October 8, 2005.
Rashmi Menezes and Klever Almeida (Decent Duet) - Mogrem Ani Chandu, Ezilda Fernandes and Dorothy Viegas (Decent Duo) - Joao Paulo Boro Gonvli, Cosma Fernandes, Avinash Mascarenhas and Peter Simon Fernandes (Decent Trio) - Goll and Christopher Vincy Menezes (Comedy solo-male) - Bazar de Kazar have bagged the first prize in their respective categories.
Around 90 artistes participated in different categories. Mr Agostinho DCruz, Mr H Britton and Mr Antonio Velho comprised the panel of judges and evaluated the performances of the participants for award of prizes and merit certificates.
Mr Agnelo Vaz (Sorg Pollou-ia) and Camilo Rodrigues (Devachem Nanv) bagged the second and third prize respectively in the Decent Solo male category. Francisco Xaveir Pereira (Konknim Bhas), John Nazareth (Marekar Duens), Anthony Fernandes (Sorgichem Ghor), George Gonsalves (Goenchem Istimasao) and Victor Fernandes (Visove) have been selected for merit certificates in this category.
In the decent solo (female) category, Snyasha Fernandes (Fullancho Khuris) and Jlynna Fernandes (Kuddeam) respectively bagged the second and third prize. Merit certificates in this category are awarded to Steiffi Cardozo (Aids Family), Livia DSilva (Konknni), Princy Pauline Coutinho (Sopnam) and Loraine Dias (Magnnem).
Anthony Fernandes and Loraine Dias (Bori Sangatin) and Alfred Colaco and Shaila Pinto (Svas), have bagged the second and third prize respectively in Decent Duet category, whereas the merit certificates in this category have been awarded to Conceicao Fernandes and Velina Silva (Mog) and Nitika Dias and Francis Dias (Konuch Naslolim).
In the Decent Duo category, Francisco Pinto and Nazario Pinto (Soro) and Joazinho Cardozo and Domingos Cardozo (Exposition) have bagged the second and third prize respectively. The merit certificates have been awarded to Bonny Alvim and F X Pereira (Pap Saib) and Salvador Fernandes and Joao Francisco Caiado (Mahatma Gandhi).
Custodio Cabral, Ezilda Fernandes and John Viegas (Sonvsari Iatra) and Filipe Pereira, Joazinho Cardozo and Domnic Cardozo (Film Festival) have been selected for the second and third prize in the Decent (Trio) category).
In the comedy solo (male) category, Filipe Pereira (Atachim Cheddvam) and Minguel Dias (Margai) have bagged the second and third prize respectively. The merit certificates have been awarded to Luis Santan DMello (Film Festival), Ricardo Cardozo (Star TV) and Ashley Fernandes (Dol).
Earlier veteran tiatr artiste H Britton inaugurated the competition in the presence of Mr Tomazinho Cardozo, general council member of Kala Academy.
