Ingos mega fun project for Assagao

PANJIM, NOV 3 Ibiza, Thailand and Hong Kong move over. If Ingo Grill, could have his way then Assagao communidade land on the plateau may soon become the next entertainment destination of the world. While the 80 gaunkars of the Assagao Communidade may have been misled by the concept of a simple Saturday Night Bazaar, investigations by Herald have revealed that Ingo had larger plans and the Saturday Night Bazaar, was a small percentage of this plan.
Documents and the investment plans, obtained by Herald have shown that the original application for a mere 50,000 sq mtrs was the entry point for investment on a larger scale.
The investment plans call for the establishment of an entertainment village and have been shown to investors ranging from Amsterdam to Ibiza. Says Dr Santos, one of the investors speaking to Herald from Germany, Ingo is giving a much different picture about his plans with the Assagao plateau to his international investors and promoters from Amsterdam and Ibiza. With his own words and signed with his own signature, he wants to occupy 200,000 square metre not 50,000 square metre.
According to initial investment plans the bazaar will be open till to 2 am, an adventure park with climbing walls, bunjee jumping, skate board facilities and a paintball field, high quality restaurants and an exclusive casino. A farmers market which will feature
biological produce, cheese produce etc which will be open from 7 pm to 12 pm and there are plans to open an English medium school based on international standards. To cater to the parking, the proposal states, parking could be arranged on another plot which could be leased out. And to finance this entire project Ingo states the lease should be a minimum of 15 years.
Realising that this plan may meet with opposition, Ingos plan clearly mentions, that one of the most important feature of the venture is short construction time, freedom to build and no outside interference. In addition the investment plan clearly mentions that since the model plan for the bazaar is already in Delhi, contact has to be made in Delhi with regard this venture.
However, Assagao Sarpanch Victor DSouza is clueless about these plans. According to him, the Saturday Night Bazaar would be the same as the one that was being held at Arpora and not more than that.

Assagao Communidade we are not aware of any adventure park as they have been given permission to set up only stalls.
Not at all perturbed over the furore about the controversy of the leasing of the communidade land on the Assagao-Siolim plateau, a confident Ingo said, such proposals bring people together and give training to the youth so I am confident that 99 per cent of the village will vote for this proposal when it comes up at special gram sabha on Sunday, November 6, at the Assagao panchayat and I am already looking for sponsors for the project which could cost millions of dollars.

The recent sordid episode of the Assagao communidade leasing its land to a non-Gaunkar, who is turn is subletting it to a foreigner who will conduct a Saturday Night Bazaar is a classic case of a few selfish individuals who do not care about their neighbours and are willing to sell even their own relatives for a few shekels.
Yes, that is the current tragic trend in Goa today of people not bothered about what happens to their State, their neighbours and sometimes even their own family and for a few rupees more will reach any type of agreement which will earn them a huge profit later on. This is not the first time the Assagao Communidade has landed itself into a mess with regards to its pristine plateau. Instead of helping the people of the village, it has allowed someone to come in and harm the village. Consider on the other hand the communidade of Nerul, which has leased its land to the Indian Navy who looking after the property and on vacant communidade land grown mango trees benefitting the Gaunkars.
Yes, Goa is full of these Judases who will do anything for a few silver coins. People who will sell property behind others backs, destroy the forests and the green cover without any consequence to the ecological imbalance, institute changes in
cities without any concern on what could be the impact around the city like what happened in Panjim, topple governments without any concern about the welfare of the State, rob churches and temples indiscriminately and sell those valuable antiques abroad and harm our children and old people by renting out vehicles to people who have no respect for the law of the land. These are the Judases who are harming Goa and are slowly taking it down the road to decay.
And these incidents are happening everyday but there are few people who are desperately fighting back, and these are the genuine fighters not the pusedo heritage lovers, who are making an attempt to stop the sale of Goa. And it is high time the rest step in because one day, those same people with their shekels will sink you too.
