17-member Wilfy Rebimbus Troupe Lands in Dubai for a Sensational Show

Daijiworld News Network - Sujay  Bendur Dubai, November 8:  As the D-day dawns for 'Konkan Showers' the much awaited multilingual show which is organised by St Mary's Konkani Community on November 10, 2005 at the Al Nasr Leisureland, the visiting artistes have landed in Dubai.

After nearly a month-long break from the variety of Konkani cultural programmes that Dubai has been flooded with in the recent past 'Konkan Showers' will be the first mega entertainment event for the music lovers. Wilfy Rebimbus, the much talked about celebrity who has recently performed at a very successful programme – the first time in the American continent of Canada today arrived with his 17 member troupe at the Dubai International Airport at 4.30pm. 
Noel Mascarenhas, Co-coordinator of SMKC  Dubai along with other officer bearers, organising Committee Members and well-wishers were present at the airport to receive the popular team.

Wilfy, Meena Vishwas Rebimbus, Prem Kumar, Claud D`Souza, Sandria Rodrigues, Joswin, Pappan and the rest of the team were absolutely fresh like daisies with absolutely no trace of travel or jet lag when they arrived today.  'We are going to offer a lot of entertainment, variety and lively numbers at this proramme, as this time, the complete troupe has come along with us. We have the most talented dancers and singers from Mangalore, and surely after our recent performance in Canada, which has boosted our morale, we are full of vigour and enthusiasm to give  our best performance to the people of Dubai.' said Wilfy while speaking to daijiworld correspondent Sujay Bendur who was also present at the airport. 'This time surely there is lot of expectation from the people and a successful show will not only give us a feather in our cap but also give rise to many more chances to perform in the Gulf countries” he said. 'SMKC has
 been very supportive in encouraging the talents and giving an opportunity to the artistes to perform in Dubai. This is the second time they have encouraged us to participate here' he said When our correspondent asked Noel Mascarenhas in what way this show was going to be unique and exciting from the previous Wilfy Nite in the year 2003 he said “There is definitely a great change. This time not only has Wilfy come with his full fledged troupe, but also we have taken care to make sure we here the best sound and light system without comprising on quality or costs. Our aim is basically charity but we also have to keep in mind that we have to provide our audience, the best for their money’s worth. Noel Mascarenhas is more than confident that this function will be a grand success 'Even though there are various social gatherings clashing on the same day, it has in  no way deterred the huge demand for tickets. Surely the momentum will pick up rapidly in
 the three days that are left to make it a total sell out. The dance troupe which will be led by Deepak  will be the special attraction.  Arona Fernandes, the lead actress of the recently released 'Padri' movie will also be part of the dance troupe and is sure to win the audience’s adoration. Esther and Melissa, two young and budding artistes, will prove their talent for the first time in Dubai both in singing and dancing. 
Two Bollywood artistes Archana Mahajan and Navin Prabhakar are expected to arrive on November 9.
