Pio Fernandes to relese second Konkani music album title "You are Great, Grandpa"
BAHRAIN-BASED Goan writer and poet Pio Fernandes is to officially release his second music album tomorrow. The artist released his debut album Tum Ostore in August, which has sold hundreds of copies in this
country.
The second album, You Are Great, Grandpa, is a musical play in Konkani, explained Pio.
The singers include Pio himself, Lorvino Pereira, Anthony Miranda, Juju Camilo, Alexander Fernandes, Reema Afonso, Jesba Fernandes and Pio's children Nikil and Anamika. Music is by Agnelo Dias.
Pio, a resident of Bahrain for more than 15 years, has written several plays in Konkani, Hindi and English. A number of them, including the English drama House for Sale, were performed in stages in India and Bahrain. Pio said he wrote House for Sale in memory of His Highness the late Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. His last Bahrain show, however, was held in 2000. Tuven Uzo Cailo (You Set the Fire) was
performed by well-known Goan singer Lorna at the Sacred Heart Church's Trinanzi Hall, in Manama. Hundreds of people attended this show.
His latest album will be available for BD1.500 at Mangalore Store, in Manama.
It will also be available during the staging of the Konkani drama, Roddo Naka (Don't Cry), at the Sacred Heart Church's Bishop Tirinanzi Auditorium in Manama on Friday.
