Hello, I own the same model. Honestly, I was deceived by the OpenSuSE 11 version. It's maybe because I am used to ?buntu systems...
To solve all my problems, I removed the original system and replaced it by a Ubuntu 8.10. Everything works fine, including the wifi with the native Network Manager program.
