It seems a good idea to me, it allows folks to be protected from turmoil --
unless they chose to be, and/or until a release is close to ready. I'm not
sure, but I suspect there are projects that are already doing this (servlet
api?) and I think they manage it by "aliasing" (a project dependent upon
another w/ full import). I suspect one creates projects per version poi-v1
and poi-v2 and then a poi that aliases poi-1 for starters. Once you think
poi-2 is close to hitting the streets then more poi to poi-2.
That all said, I've never done it, it just strikes me as the way from things
I've seen.
Also, here are a few things I've seen folks do w/ tags:
in jakarta-tomcat-connectors-coyote_10.xml :
<cvs repository="jakarta" module="jakarta-tomcat-connectors"
tag="coyote_10"/>
in jakarta-log4j-12.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<module name="jakarta-log4j-12" tag="v1_2-branch">
Seems you have options, but (from what I see) folks have a cloned module
descriptor for each "version". Not sure how that affects the "aliasing" I
was suggesting, you might want a version independent module to depend upon
the aliased one.

Adam
