Whilst setting up a new Gumpy I ran into problems where the SF.net viewcvs seems to randomly return HTML not XML. (Clearly this affects us for the XML project descriptors folks have placed there.) I believe viewcvs attempts to show HTML to humans, but return the raw data to programs. Just an FYI in case some thing start going odd on people.
[BTW: Gumpy was caching things locally and then never re-checking, I've fixed that. I also make Gumpy set a user agent now, in case that makes a difference, but is good practice anyway.] FWIIW: I've logged a problem w/ SF.net. regards Adam ----- Original Message ----- From: "SourceForge.net" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, September 29, 2003 6:08 AM Subject: [ alexandria-Support Requests-813249 ] ViewCVS issue > Support Requests item #813249, was opened at 2003-09-26 15:44 > Message generated for change (Comment added) made by burley > You can respond by visiting: > https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200001&aid=813249&group_id=1 > > Category: Project CVS Services > >Group: Second Level Support > Status: Open > Priority: 5 > Submitted By: Adam Jack (arb_jack) > >Assigned to: Jacob Moorman (moorman) > >Summary: ViewCVS issue > > Initial Comment: > I am working for http://jakarta.apache.org/gump/ which > accesses SF.net CVS, and sometime via viewcvs. > > Recently the viewcvs responses we make have come > back as human-oriented HTML, not XML (the raw data > format).
