please note that you will probably get a different result when you do that with an interactive shell than the cron job that runs the Gump builds. Dims, take a look at the test-ant result, this one echos at least file.encoding as well as some other system properties so you should be able to see which environment was in effect when ws-axis failed. Alternatively you can explicitly put an echoproperties task into your buildfile.
